Happy Birthday to Erwin Schrödinger, one of the founders of quantum theory and father of the ubiquitous Schrödinger equation, born 134 yrs ago today.
He was awarded the 1933 Nobel Prize in Physics, along with British physicist Paul Dirac.
Erwin Schrödinger’s lectures on ‘What is Life?’, were later published in book form. It influenced a wide range of scientists including James Watson and Francis Crick. He wrote to Schrödinger on his 66th birthday (12 August 1953), thanking him for the inspiration.
