One can find many thinnai veedu (house with open verandah also called thinnai maadam) in the villages of Tamilnadu, particularly in the districts viz., Thanjavur, Karaikudi, Kumbakonam, Pudukottai etc. The houses are built with lot of wooden works and protected by nattu odu (locally made tiles). Residents, neighbours and other friends were used to spend time nicely.
