நவராத்திரி திருவிழா பண்டைய காலங்களிலிருந்து தெய்வீகத் தாயான தேவியின் வழிபாட்டு முறையாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. விஜயதசமி என்பது துர்கா தேவி சிங்கத்தின் மேல் சவாரி செய்து, எருமை அரக்கன் மஹிசாசுரனைக் கொன்ற தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. நவராத்திரியின் ஒன்பது நாட்களைத் தொடர்ந்து வரும் நாள் விஜயதசமி. “விஜய” மற்றும் “தசமி” என்ற இரண்டு சொற்களின் கலவையாகும், இது பத்தாம் நாளில் தீமைக்கு எதிரான நல்ல வெற்றியைக் கொண்டாடும் பண்டிகையாகும். தசரா என்பது “தஷாம் ” மற்றும் “ஹரா” என்பதன் கூட்டுச்சொல்….
