1. Introduction

2. Objectives
- Provide comprehensive testing services for pigments, resins, solvents, additives, pretreatment chemicals, and coatings.
- Support R&D and new product formulations in decorative, industrial, automotive, protective, and specialty coatings.
- Enable cost reduction through raw material substitution, formulation optimization, and process efficiency.
- Assist paint manufacturers and vendors with quality validation, alternative sourcing, and product improvement.
- Help paint users (OEMs, fabricators, contractors) in troubleshooting coating failures and optimizing application processes.
- Train engineering and science students through microprojects, internships, and certification programs, preparing them as industry-ready coating technologists.
3. Scope of Services
3.1 Testing & Quality Control
- Raw material testing (pigments, resins, solvents, additives, pretreatment chemicals).
- Finished paint evaluation (adhesion, gloss, hardness, durability, corrosion resistance).
- Process troubleshooting (bath life, sludge formation, film defects).
