Dear Parents,
Many of you have expressed concern about your children scoring poorly in school tests despite attending additional coaching classes. The main reasons for this underperformance are poor time management and lack of consistent practice.
In academics, there are four key levels of skill development:
Level 1: Knowledge
This involves familiarising students with terms, symbols, definitions, formulae, and units of each concept. It is the memory foundation of learning.
🧠 Tip: Practice daily using flashcards for 30 minutes—just like reciting slokas.
Level 2: Understanding
This is achieved through attentive class participation. Unfortunately, many students are inattentive, often engaging in side conversations—even during special coaching classes.
Issues observed:
- Inconsistent attendance
- Poor listening habits
- Restlessness and lack of interest
Such students need proper counselling, ideally with a mentor and their parents. I am available during my free time to support such discussions.
Level 3: Practice
True mastery requires focused practice for at least 3 hours daily:
- 🕔 Morning (1.5 hrs) – Revise previously learned concepts
- 🌇 Evening (1.5 hrs) – Work on new concepts
We support this through:
- Early Morning Concept Cards aligned to school syllabus
- Evening direct classes at Saitech
Level 4: Self-Assessment
Students should attempt worksheets for at least 30 minutes daily, either:
- At home under parental supervision
- Or at Saitech during evening sessions
Conclusion:
For success in academics:
- Minimum study time: 6 hours/day (working days), 12 hours/day (holidays)
