Smt. Kasthuri Kathirvel Ammaiyar’s life was one of kindness, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others. Even in her 87th year, she left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations. On February 8, 2025, in the twilight of her life, she attained the lotus feet of Lord Shiva at the residence of her elder son, Thiru Velmurugan, in Tambaram, Chennai. However, her final act of service to humanity transcended her physical presence—she donated her eyes, ensuring that her vision would illuminate the world for others even after her demise.
Eye donation is one of the noblest forms of charity, as it grants the gift of sight to those in darkness. Smt. Such magnanimity, especially at an advanced age, is a testament to her strength of character and her unwavering belief in the power of giving.

She has set a shining precedent for others to follow, encouraging society to embrace the spirit of donation and selfless service.
