Hyphenated TermsDefinitions
Anti-foaming agentAn additive that reduces foam formation during paint mixing and application.
Co-polymer dispersionA dispersion containing two or more types of monomers in polymer form.
Micro-particle stabilizerA stabilizing agent used to prevent particle aggregation in emulsions.
Film-forming additiveAn additive that aids in forming a smooth and continuous paint film.
Thick-film agentA thickening agent that creates films of higher thickness.
Non-yellowing resinA resin that resists yellowing over time or under UV exposure.
Water-based binderA binder that uses water as a solvent instead of organic solvents.
High-shear mixerA mixer used for high-shear conditions during paint manufacturing.
Mid-viscosity extenderAn extender that provides moderate viscosity control.
Coalescing solventA solvent that helps in coalescence of polymer particles in paint films.
Self-leveling propertyA property that ensures paint spreads evenly and self-levels on surfaces.
Low-VOC formulationA formulation designed to minimize volatile organic compound emissions.
Anti-settling agentAn additive that prevents pigments and solids from settling at the bottom.
Non-ionic surfactantA surfactant that does not carry ionic charge, aiding in dispersion.
High-opacity pigmentA pigment that provides high hiding power in paint films.
Shear-thinning behaviorA behavior where viscosity decreases under shear stress, aiding application.
Semi-gloss finishA paint finish between gloss and matte, providing moderate shine.
Open-time extenderAn additive that extends the time during which paint can be worked.
Wet-edge retentionA property that retains a wet edge to allow smooth paint blending.
UV-stabilized coatingA coating stabilized to resist UV light degradation.
Anti-sag additiveAn additive that prevents paint from sagging during vertical application.
Cross-linking agentAn agent that promotes cross-linking of polymer chains for durability.
Micro-foam reducerAn additive that reduces micro-foam generation in paint films.
Water-reducible formulationA formulation that can be diluted with water for application.
Latex-emulsion binderA binder composed of latex emulsion for improved flexibility and adhesion.
Flow-and-leveling agentAn additive that improves paint flow and self-leveling properties.
Pigment-volume concentrationThe ratio of pigment volume to the total volume of the paint film.
Dry-film thicknessThe thickness of a dried paint film after application.
Quick-drying systemA paint system that dries quickly after application.
Non-slip surfaceA paint additive that creates a textured surface to prevent slipping.
